Huron County is included in the Norwalk, OH Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Combined Statistical Area. ==History== The county was named in honor of the Huron Indians who once lived in the Great Lakes region. The word "Huron" may be French, although this origin is disputed. After the discovery of the New World, the land that became Huron County was originally part of the French colony of Canada (New France), which was ceded in 1763 to Great Britain and renamed Province of Quebec. In the late 18th century the land became part of the Connecticut Western Reserve in a subregion called the Firelands, in the Northwest Territory, then was purchased by the Connecticut Land Company in 1795. At formation, Huron County consisted of all the Firelands. Sections in the north now belong to Erie and Ottawa Counties, while a township in the south is now part of Ashland County. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Huron County, Ohio」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
